Andrea Hamawi

 Currently I was as a Quality validator while attenting my internship in an elderly home as a psychology student in her master's degree. I am very passionate about my major and worked with kids and adult.

During my internship as a Psychologist Intern at SOS Children's Village in April-May 2023, I gained valuable experience in providing support to children through one-on-one and group preliminary sessions. Under the supervision of a psychologist, I conducted psychological assessments using the Patte noire technique and developed informative sessions on crucial topics like sexual abuse prevention, sexual awareness, and bullying, both for the children and their caregivers.

In my role as a Psychologist Intern at Oum El Nour Drug Rehabilitation Center in February-March 2023, I actively participated in one-on-one sessions with patients, collaborating closely with the psychologist, educator, and social worker to analyze symptoms and diagnoses. Additionally, I conducted preliminary sessions with patients, assisting in identifying and assessing psychological and personality disorders. I also provided important support through informative phone calls to patients and their families, all while working under supervision.

Furthermore, I had the opportunity to intern at an elderly home, where I detected signs of depression among residents, offered emotional support, and created exercises for emotional expression. These diverse experiences have equipped me with a broad skill set and a deeper understanding of mental health and psychology.

I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Psychology at the Lebanese University in Fanar, Lebanon, since 2022. This two-year program has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of clinical work, encompassing a range of therapy approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodrama. Additionally, I have developed expertise in research methodology and the facilitation of workshops. This degree emphasizes the practical application of psychological theories through internships, allowing me to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field.

Prior to my MA studies, I completed my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology at the Lebanese University in Fanar from 2019 to 2021, achieving a GPA of 75.21/100. During this three-year program, I acquired foundational knowledge in general psychology, delving into areas such as human psychological development, neuroscience, social psychology, and various psychological assessment techniques, including Rorschach, TAT, and CAT. These educational experiences have equipped me with a solid academic background and a strong foundation in psychology, preparing me for further specialization in clinical psychology.
