As a Civil Engineer in REESTART Project, a program funded by EU, implemented by the Institute for University Co-operation (ICU) in Lebanon, I have acquired extensive knowledge in Quality Control for Civil works, European and International Standards for Building codes as well as Design and implementation of steel structures used in large scale PV applications. Being a member of ICU team has given me the ability to multi-task as I contribute to the program’s objective which aims to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation in support of Lebanon’s clean energy transition. The program opts to Increase level of investment in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Lebanon through the creation of a more enabling environment for ESCOs to operate and grow.
From August 2018 till March 2020, I worked as an Assessment Assistant at the Operations and Maintenance Department within the Lebanese American University. My main role was to collect key performance indicators (KPI) and generate detailed reports and assisting in multidisciplinary projects that include AutoCAD drawings for HVAC, piping and drainage. Conducting research on required materials and equipment to be installed was also a part of my job.
From September 2020 till April 2021, I worked as a damage assessment Engineer at Mclarens, a global loss adjusting company who facilitate the settlement of both simple and complex claims. My tasks consisted of field inspections for 20 major buildings affected by the Beirut blast (Residential, Commercial, Educational, etc..) and damage acknowledgment and assessment. I also performed quantity surveying, BOQ preparation and reporting.
From June 2020 till October 2021, I worked as a Site Civil Engineer at Jean El Khoury Development. As part of my role, I performed field work supervision, implementation of all aspects of the project (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) and tasks coordination between all parties on site. I also provided as built drawings after completion of each phase of the project. The project consisted of roads, drainage channels, residential villas, and an underground parking.
Part of what I enjoyed the most about working in EU funded projects is the opportunity I have had to benefit and give back to my community as working for a cause is very fulfilling. All these experiences were a value-added to my career, as much as to my personality, as they shaped me into the person I am today.
