Work Responsibilities - were to:

. Examining models and impressions to determine the necessary dental products and to establish the design to be constructed after Reading prescriptions and specifications.

. Pouring plaster into a dental impression and letting it set to make a model of the patient’s mouth.

. Using articulators and macrometers to test appliances in accordance with the specifications and precision of occlusion.

. Applying wax on denture setups to form contours of artificial gums.

. Building and shaping wax teeth by following the prescriptions of the dentist.

. Mixing plaster, melting metals, porcelain, or acrylic pastes, and pouring substances into molds to form   dental prostheses, fixed or removable.

. Using brushes and spatulas to put porcelain paste or wax on prosthesis frameworks.

. Preparing metal surfaces to join and attach to porcelain to make artificial teeth.

. Putting the build-up teeth ceramic in porcelain furnaces to bake the porcelain onto the mold.

. Using polishing devices to polish surfaces of prostheses and remove excess material.

. Prepare wax bite blocks and impression trays for use.

. Assessing the functionality by placing tooth model in an apparatus that mimics the bite and movement of the patient’s jaw.

. Using soldering irons and hand instruments to form and solder wire and metal frames for dental products.

. Fill chipped or low spots in surfaces of devices, using acrylic resins.

. Working with removable setups for dentures and partials.

. Repairing, fabricating, and altering dental devices such as dentures, crowns and bridges, inlays or appliances for strengthening teeth.

. Training and supervising other dental technicians and dental laboratory workers.
