Lana Kamand

I am currently an Arabic Tutor. I have over 6 years of experience teaching Arabic to foreigners from diverse backgrounds and age groups. My experience spans multiple geographic locations and teaching forms delivering classes both online and face to face. Throughout, I’ve gained immense language teaching experience focused on student’s integrated engagement. My interest in improving how language is taught led me to complement my professional background with CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language).

My experience as a Fulbright teaching assistant at the University of Florida not only helped me further improved my teaching capabilities but also my management and leadership skills. I designed and delivered Levantine and MSA conversational classes and I helped prepare and implement numerous successful cultural activities to expose university students to the Arabic culture (Arabic tent, Lebanese national day, Arabic movie festival, Hanna day, etc…). I also maintained office hours and supported students with their different course and other related inquiries.

I also participated in a business startup competition and developed educational websites about the Lebanese dialect and culture. 

I am  a graphic design graduate. I am doing an MA degree in Educational Technology at the University of Balamand in Lebanon. I am also pursuing an MA degree in Arabic Studies at Middlebury Language Schools (summer program) in Vermont.
