Area Coordinator - South Lebanon
As area coordinator for South Lebanon, I held many duties and responsibilities:
• Soft Mobility Project:
- Support identifying the traffic and congestion problem in Tyre city.
- Support identifying solutions and mitigation measures for an easier transportation method.
- Assist and support Zurich transportation expert develop a feasibility study for the proposed
projects.
- Assist and support National transportation expert develop a concept note, proposed plan and
feasibility study for three (3) neighboring municipalities for a common public transportation project.
- Organize, support and conduct follow-up meetings with concerned municipalities for missing
data/approvals.
- Monthly donor follow-up, presentations and updates regarding the project.
• Neighborhood profiling:
- Contribute to collecting data for the neighborhood profile.
- Assist in the design of data collection, type of information to be collected, technical and social, type
of data to be produced in close collaboration with the analysis team.
- Validate the data collected with the respective key persons.
- Promote and still promoting the neighborhood profiles data collection findings to different
stakeholders in the area and encourage them to use their findings for their future planning and
projects.
• Projects Development:
- Play different roles between the main focal persons or assist in gathering technical data to help
produce engineering studies (BoQs, Illustrations, maps.), contribute to the bidding documents when
applicable for shelter projects.
- Assess in reviewing proposals submitted by communities, municipalities and unions.
- Follow up on the implementation of projects and ensure proper coordination with different counterparts, municipalities and contractors.

• After Beirut Blast 04 August 2020:
- Assigned as site architect responsible for monitor, supervise and assist in the design of full
rehabilitation of ten (10) residential buildings classified as cultural heritage buildings in Beirut along
with their common public space.
- Assigned as the architect responsible for all the study, from the physical assessment, map
drawings, BOQ’s and solutions proposing for the HIV/Tuberculosis hospital in Karantina-Beirut.
- Lead a team of volunteers to assess, report and identify interventions to rehabilitation works for 50
households in Nabaa-Beirut, 50 households in Achrafiye-Beirut, 40 in Bourj Hammoud area, and
diverse buildings near the explosion.
- Assigned as cluster architect, supervise and lead a team of volunteers in Beirut, assess and
prepare BOQ’s, monitor and follow-up the contractor’s work in five (5) different private schools
heavily damaged.
• Coordination:
- Carry out on a regular basis field visits and conduct consultations with local actors (municipalities,
unions, governors, NGOs, UN agencies, etc.) to build a clear vision on the implementation of the
project and its feasibility in the assigned area.
- Coordinate and liaise with local authorities, non-governmental organizations, community groups,
civil society organizations and local government organizations.
- Attend all the interagency and coordination meetings.
- Team leader in the task force established internally to fight the pandemic of the COVID-19
outbreak, responsible to schedule and organize meetings with several unions all over Lebanon,
conduct assessments, report and help plan and ameliorate the preparedness and readiness of the
unions to fight the spread.
• Coaching:
- Assist local partners in the write up of projects proposals and coordination.
- Supervise, manage and provide technical guidance to the municipal engineers under the Regional
Technical Office (RTO), established by UN-Habitat to support local governance, and ensure that
works are compliant with technical specifications and drawings.
• Reporting:
- Prepare weekly progress reports to the head of unit.
- Support in the documentation process of funded projects (technical reports, progress reports,
budgeting and financial statements).
- Take part in projects final reporting.
UN-Habitat - Beirut, Lebanon 10/2018 - 02/2020
Area Architect - Saida:
During my position as Area Architect with UN-habitat on the cultural heritage preservation project I
worked on different aspects:
- Physical assessment to identify damages and the required restoration needed for 17 buildings, 50
apartments, 17 common areas and 17 roofs along with shops and storage's.
- Prepare tender documents, as built and BOQ’s for all the mentioned items above.
- Supervise and monitor the project execution progress, provide and ensure quality and quantities
stated in the BOQ are being respected along with the time schedule.
- Different reports, comparative and comprehensive reports and tables.
- Hand over of the apartments, common areas, elevations and roof from the contractor and prepare a
snag list where needed.
- Revise, check and correct the interim payments of the contractor.
- Physical assessment and report for the components of Phase II project extension “Ahwet l ezez” and “al-Hamam al JAdid” in old Saida, highlighting all the major damages and proposing
interventions we can do to help renovate and save the history of the monuments.

• Project Manager Assistant:
Plan, monitor, supervise and coordinate with electrical and mechanical engineers, to ensure the
execution on site as per the design plans and specifications on two projects:
- One residential apartment in Manara-Beirut of 200 m2 consisting of 2 bedrooms, 2 wcs, 2 salons,
kitchen and maids area.
- One residential apartment in Achrafieh-Beirut of 280 m2 consisting of 1 master bedroom , 2
bedrooms with 4 wcs, 2 reception areas a kitchen and maids area.
- Different Boq’s and as-built drawings made for several residential projects in all over Beirut.
