- (May 02, 2023 – till present) Mines Advisory Group (MAG) – Syria: Country Security manager.
The Mines Advisory Group is a non-governmental organization that assists people affected by landmines, unexploded ordnance, and small arms and light weapons.
My main responsibilities include:
- Advise and provide technical support to the Country Director and management on Safety and Security policies, procedures, guidelines, and operational methods and tactics.
- Develop, Review, Evaluate, and Update Safety and Security Plans, such as Contingency, Evacuation, Relocation, Hibernation, Medevac, and Crisis Management, as well as its related SOPs and ensure staff are briefed on these documents.
- Ensure an efficient communication flow stream between all offices and staff.
- Develop and implement Access strategy at the national and field office levels
- Develop and maintain an efficient communication stream with local authorities and other external security stakeholders. Issue advisories as necessary, ensuring data is disseminated reliably to staff.
- Maintain incident database by monitoring, recording, registering and ensuring that all incidents are mapped. Prepare reports, including post-incident analysis, as required.
- Update the Security Risk register, and conduct regular Security Risk Analysis according to operational requirements
- Develop Safety and Security training plans and training materials, Provide /deliver S&S training sessions, Maintain training records, and develop staff security capacity and awareness in all offices
- Ensure all staff and visitors are given appropriate security briefings and inductions.
