Sarah Ali

Greetings,

I am Sarah Ali, an Environmental Health graduate from the American University of Beirut. I am a passionate graduate who is actively searching for job opportunities, with my priority being a full-time job that could potentially intensify my competence and skills. My career angles range from environmental health and food safety to humanitarian work, receptionist and accountant.

1. Worked as a Research Assistant at AUB on a 3 months project and it was in collaboration with Khaddit Beirut. Deputy Najat Saliba and Dr. Iman Nuwayhid (Professor at AUB and Dean of the faculty of health sciences) were responsible on this project. The project was an Environmental Health initiative regarding assessing the need for a “Safety at Times of Disaster Initiative” during the past period and what may come ahead. The assessment provided the related recommendations for intervention, through research and analysis performed. 

Tasks completed: (Worked with Mr. Ghadi Samia on this project, a powerpoint was done and a report of 80 pages was written).

• What type of hazards have been covered by disaster risk assessments?
• How recent are these studies? Are there action plans to implement these studies?
• Are there plans to translate these studies into practice?
• What are the challenges that prevent these studies from being implemented?
• What are some suggested methods we can use to bridge the gap between policy and practice?
