حول Tia Avakian:

A growing Fashion Buyer with an everlasting interest in fashion. I've always been interested in fashion trends and changes in fashion tastes all over the world and my current job at Galeries Lafayette gives me the opportunity to exercise just that.

On the side, I've also had the pleasure to be involved in several humanitarian activities through helping underprivileged communities in Lebanon and volunteering to relief families during the current Lebanese economic crisis.

During my free time, I'm an avid fan of the clothing and fashion industry from both an artistic and technical perspective. And, whenever possible, I make sure to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

• Compile the pre-buy data for Dubai, such as sell-outs, the floor's feedback, weekly residual stock & monthly comparative stock reports to examine the performance of the brands & function on the upcoming season's budgets.

 

• Extract data to determine the bestselling quantities of sizes & colors of each brand.

 

• Prepare market research on upcoming trends from trend books, comebacks of classic brands, bestsellers & earlier product performances to select the best purchases for the upcoming season.  

 

• Visiting showrooms to place the orders of the new collections for each brand of the up-coming year depending on the statistic report, customer's feedback, price point & what's trending in the market.

 

• Responsible for sending the good for agreement to the logistics & accounting team which includes the OC & the conditions we have negotiated & agreed on with the suppliers.

 

• Contacting suppliers regularly to support their needs & inquiries.

 

• Pricing the items purchased depending on mark-ups or SRPs by calculating the margin as well to make sure if we're making good profit.

 

• Responsible for the creation of stock residuals weekly in order to see the items we've sold to work on the replenishments & re-orders.

 

• Leading the creation of commercial agreements with new brands & the negotiations for terms and conditions.

 

• Assisting the head of buyer in the changes of the floor plan.
