Rafik Hariri University invites applications for a part-time Photography instructor in the Graphic Design department to teach a summer photography course. Applicants must hold a BS or MA degree in one of the following fields Photography, Radio TV & Film, or Communication Arts. He should have experience in teaching and practicing photography. The Graphic Design program at RHU is a progressive and well-established program housed within the College of Science and Information Systems. The successful candidate should exhibit passion towards teaching and practicing photography and should be updated with the new technologies in the field.
Duties and responsibilities
The candidate responsibility is to instruct classes of photography as assigned while applying modern technological advancements in the field of photography. He is also required to participate in general faculty functions related to the educational program and in-service activities.
Educational and Special Requirements
The applicant must hold a BS or MA degree in the following fields: Photography, RTF, or Communication Arts. The applicant must have a good command of the English language and must show effective oral and written communication skills. Applicants must display a commitment to student learning; as well as maintain an effective working relationship with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of traditional black and white photography, digital photography as well as conceptual photography.
Familiarity with wet lab darkroom usage
Knowledge of current best practices in photography
Teaching or other instructional experience in photography
Familiarity with digital media software applications such as Photoshop, Lightbox, or other systems for digital colour management
